Only your licensed local broker can place an MLS listing for your home, whether or not you opt for no commission real estate. However, once the listings are active, you are free to place a For Sale By Owner sign on your property and deal directly with the public on your own. This alone has the potential to direct more traffic to your door from buyers who would rather deal directly with you than work through a broker. You will still be responsible for any commission owed to your buyers broker, but that will still be only a fraction of what you would have paid if you had entered into a standard arrangement with your broker. You may even end up selling your home to someone who is also working without a broker.
