The first thing you will want to look for in a dog food brand is the protein content. An alarming number of dog food brands out there contain very little animal protein, which is of course an essential part of every dog's diet. A lot of these products substitute nutritionally deficient foods such as wheat and corn instead of animal protein and these will not really satisfied your dog' s nutritional requirements. These foods may not do any harm to humans in the short term, but the same cannot be said for dogs. What you will want to look for in a dog food product is a sufficient amount of animal protein that is of suitably high quality.
